The Arizona Cardinals started their season 4-0, then lost nine straight before defeating the Detroit Lions last weekend. Part of their troubles lay in difficulties at the quarterback position, something that has plagued the organization since Kurt Warner took them to the Super Bowl after the 2008 season and to the NFC West title and divisional playoff round the next year.

But now there’s a new guy under center. That would in fact be the third “new guy” running the Arizona offense as the starting quarterback. Indeed, the Cardinals have changed starters five times in the span of 14 games, beginning with John Skelton, then to Kevin Kolb and back again.

And finally to Ryan Lindley, who was inactive for game one this season, a sixth-round draft choice this year and did not play at all in the first nine games.

Which means that what the Bears know about him is:

“Nothing,” said defensive tackle Henry Melton.

How about his name?

“Nope. I don’t want to know his name.”

It has been a forgettable name after all.

Lindley has started three of the last for games and thrown zero touchdowns and six interceptions, for a passer rating of 45.0.

“I don’t even know his number,” Melton said. “That’s all I’m going to aim for.”
