Stopping Peterson came with a high price

The Bears controlled running back Adrian Peterson in last Sunday’s 28-10 handling of the Minnesota Vikings. The NFL just didn’t approve of the way they did it sometimes.
CSNChicago.com has confirmed that linebacker Brian Urlacher has been assessed a $15,750 fine for a horse-collar tackle of Peterson. Defensive tackle Henry Melton received a bill for $7,875 for taking down by the facemask in the fourth quarter. The fines were first reported by the Chicago Tribune.
Those two tickets topped the $21,000 that Vikings defensive end Jared Allen has been fined for his blow to the head of guard Lance Louis after a Minnesota interception. Louis suffered a knee injury on the play and is lost for the season.
