Sick bay: Jeffery not back for Texans

Rookie wide receiver Alshon Jeffery became a virtual certain “out” for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans, out of practice for the second day this week with his broken hand. It will be the fourth straight game (plus the off week) missed by Jeffery, who was injured on a fourth-quarter touchdown catch.
Defensive tackle Matt Toeaina (calf) also missed practice and linebacker Brian Urlacher was his usual coaches-decision spectator Thursday.
The Texans were without nose tackle Shaun Cody, who reportedly suffered a broken rib and punctured lung last Sunday against the Buffalo Bills and had a “procedure” done for his injured ribs, according to the Houston Chronicle. He has not been ruled out for the Bears game and Houston coach Gary Kubiak refused to elaborate on the injury beyond “rib issues.”
Tight end Owen Daniels (back) missed his second day of practice and backup running back Ben Tate (hamstring) also was limted.
More significant possibly, No. 2 wide receiver Kevin Walter was on the injury report for the first time, with a groin problem. Running back Arian Foster, a coaches-decision limited practice on Wednesday, worked out in full Thursday.
