Former Bears wide receiver Rashied Davis may be waiting for the phone to ring with a call from an NFL team in need, but he is doing anything but just sitting around.

To help Chicago Public School students, Rashied Davis Charities is hosting its first annual “Bowling for Brighter Tomorrows” event to support Saturday Place, its academic enrichment program.

Bowling for Brighter Tomorrows will take place on Monday, November 12, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Lucky Strike on 322 East Illinois Street in Chicago. Davis will host the event and be joined by former teammates and Bears including Lance Briggs, Nick Roach, Israel Idonije, D.J. Moore, Jason Campbell, Matt Speth, Geno Hayes, Anthony Adams, “Big Cat Williams,” and Garrett Wolfe. Other local celebrities such as Laurence Holmes from WSCR The Score, Ryan Chiaverini from Channel 7’s “Windy City Live” and Ashley Hooks, Miss Illinois USA 2012.

Lanes can be purchased for $2500 and individual ticket prices are $100 for pre-sale (or $200 at the door). Individual pre-sale tickets are available here.

The proceeds raised from Bowling for Brighter Tomorrows will benefit Saturday Place, a once-a-week program for 3rd and 4th grade Chicago Public School students who are performing at least one year below grade level.
